Due to the troubling economy, bulk bank foreclosure listings, also known as bulk REO (Real Estate Owned) properties, and gaining popularity. Investing in these foreclosed homes is most profitable when buying in bulk. Some institutions do not permit individual REO purchases.

With bulk REO investments, the buyer invests in a bulk purchase that encompasses multiple states or regions. When purchases a bulk REO package, be sure to work with a reputable lender. Have your financial advisor analyze the investment to ensure the package only includes the best properties in the strongest markets.

When all of the homes in the package are finally sold, net profits are calculated. The all the investors are paid their pro-rated share of the profit. Consider investing in a package of REO’s, rather than a single property, as the discounted “wholesale” prices may lead to better return on your investment.
